From Patrick Nunnally:
I hope your fall has been pleasant. We are proud to offer Issue 5 of Open Rivers, on “Networks and Collaboration.” Find it at http://openrivers.umn.edu.
By now, most of us know that we have to work together to accomplish really substantial goals. But “collaborate” is easier to say than it is to do, certainly! The features gathered here describe diverse forms of local and regional collaboration, which redefine the relations we have between our communities and the waters that nourish us. Whatever specific sector you work in, scale of challenge you are taking on, or type of program you are building, we think you will find something here that models an approach that will interest you.
In addition we have our regular “column” inclusions, on teaching and practice, new materials for review, primary sources for continued inquiry, distinct geographical ranges and deliberately divergent points of view.
We hope you enjoy the issue; please do feel free to share it. We welcome your comments, ideas, and suggestions.
